It was an evening of reminisces as Nanyang Polytechnic Alumni Winds (NYPAW) presented her first ever concert, ChronoWerkz on 28th February 2009. It was graced by Dr Mohd Maliki Bin Osman, Parliamentary Secretary Ministry of National Development, MP for Sembawang GRC (Admiralty).

The alumni brought the audiences back to the era of pieces so popular, that they have never been missed for competitions over the years.

To top it all, our ensembles also impressed everyone with their stylistics on their instruments from precision classical to an ever lovingly tender pop number.

The night featured three of our alumni leading the band.

• Mr Keith Koe Meng Kiang
• Mr Gavin Goh Shi Ming
• Mr Xaven Chng

It was definitely a night to remember for every musician on stage. With such positive and excellent evening, NYPAW is set to soar to greater heights.

Musica Etnica 2007

January 7th, 2007 marked a very important and significant day for NYPAW. Musica Etnica was introduced into the world of wind band in Singapore. In collaboration with Nanyang Winds (NTU Symphonic Band Alumni), the 80 strong band entertained the audience with a wide variety of folk/ethnic music.

The repertoire at the Victoria Concert Hall included Festive Overture, Rhapsody for Hanukkah, Silvercrest, Armenian Dances 1, Caribbean Hideaway, Romantic Charm of Pentatonism and Kilkenny Rhapsody just to name a few.

Under the baton of Mr Luk Hoi Yui, the band performed to fantastic audiences. Also featured that night were the assistant conductors from both bands. Mr Mohamed Salleh Bin Md Nooh from NYPAW conducted Silvercrest and Caribbean Hideaway. Mr Eric Chua from Nanyang Winds conducted Armenian Dances 1.

The evening was graced by Ms Indranee Rajah, MP for Tanjong Pagar GRC.

NYPAW looks forward to great years ahead.
